Splice repair, also called Dutchman is a superior repair of damaged or decayed wood compared to any Epoxy repair that will always fail. Simply cut out the damage and glue a new wood in place. Shape and paint with the organic linseed oil paint. Will last for 50 years. If the wood is extremely dry, apply a warmed coat of the organic raw linseed oil after the repair is completed.
